☘️🌈☘️🌈☘️⁣

Materials: ⁣

Green construction paper strips ⁣

Construction paper (I used orange) ⁣

Contact paper- If you do not have contact paper you can easily use glue or mod podge. Find ours in my Amazon Storefront ⁣

☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️⁣

1. Do your best to draw a shamrock on the construction paper. 👩‍🎨 ⁣

2. Cut out the ☘️. We will be using the outline of the shamrock, not the actual shamrock. BUT save it! The kid(s) can decorate it tomorrow! ⁣

3. Carefully place the outline of the ☘️ onto the contact paper. ⁣

4. You can do this at a table, on the floor, wherever..... we choose to stick it on the window 🪟 and do this vertically. 🌟 working on a vertical surface improves a child's' dexterity and control. 🌟

5. Cut out strips of green construction paper for the kids to rip. ✂️ ⁣

6. Invite the kids to "rip and stick"! ⁣

🌟🌟🌟The act of ripping/tearing paper encourages useful finger and co-ordination skills. When teaching them how to rip, have them hold the paper between the thumb and pointing finger of each hand. They then have to move each hand in a different directions. For younger toddlers this can be difficult and may need more hand over hand assistance!⁣

Language: When my kids and I play there is always a verbal word connected to each action or movement. This is huge for language development! During this activity we focused on the words rip and stick... obviously 😆
