Snow Globes... they encompass every attribute that would attract a toddler BUT they are a huge no no š š½āāļø for any and all young hands.
G has a beautiful snowman āļø snow globe that we place high on his dresser for him to gawk at all winter long. M has a cupcake š§ snow globe we put out around her birthday (it also sings š¶ Happy Birthday š ). I feel like we taunt them with these tempting-to-touch decorations š so we decided to make some DIY snow globes that are HOPEFULLY unbreakable.
We used our #gifted @LearningResources Science Sensory Tubes but a water bottle would work as well... or a jar (if you trust your kiddos with glass)
Materials
- permanent markers (orange and black)š
- empty sensory tubes, water bottle, or jar
- water š¦
- glitter ⨠(we used white and blue)
- pipe cleaner for a scarf š§£ (optional)
Fill the bottles ALMOST to the top. Leave just enough room for the glitter.
Add the glitter āØ
If you are using a water bottle or jar, you may want to hot glue the lid on so there is no leaking š§
Draw eyes, mouth, and carrot nose š„
Add pipe cleaner scarf š§£
Shake! Shake! Shake! Enjoy!
āļø When you are done with the snow globe, you can use an alcohol wipe to remove the marker from the tube š§½ š
